Court Reporters

Also called a court stenographer, stenotype operator, law reporter or shorthand reporter is someone whose job it is to transcribe spoken or recorded dialogue of depositions, official proceedings, pre-trial and trials and court hearings into written form. Court reporters can service state, local and federal agencies, private law firms, trade associations, courts, nonprofit agencies, government agencies and even meeting planners. Includes stenocaptioners who operate computerized stenographic captioning equipment to provide captions of live or prerecorded broadcasts for hearing-impaired viewers.
